The Chabad of Charleston
Memorial Board

Honor the memory of your loved ones in a meaningful and lasting way through the Chabad of Charleston Memorial Yahrzeit Board.

The Memorial Board serves as a beautiful tribute to those who have passed away. Each memorial plaque is inscribed with your loved one's English and Hebrew name, along with the date of passing. Every year, on the anniversary of their passing (Yahrzeit), their memorial light is illuminated as a symbol of their enduring legacy and the eternal flame of the Jewish soul.

As family members and visitors gather throughout the year, the illuminated plaques serve as a heartfelt reminder of those who came before us, ensuring that their memories continue to inspire future generations.

The Meaning of Yahrzeit

Observing a Yahrzeit is a cherished Jewish tradition that honors the life and memory of a loved one. Each year, on the anniversary of their passing according to the Hebrew calendar, we pause to remember their legacy through prayer, acts of kindness, and the lighting of a memorial candle.

The illuminated light on our Memorial Board symbolizes the eternal nature of the soul and reflects our commitment to keeping the memories of our loved ones alive within our community.
